Transfer of records of historical and administrative importance available in various departments of Uttar Pradesh Government, divisional and district level offices and semi-government institutions and classification of transferred records, and proper scientific preservation and systematic storage in carton boxes, Providing records of historical importance to research scholars for research and necessary information to the government, Facilities related to microfilming and photocopying of records and obtaining rare manuscripts and documents from personal rights.
- To give advice for systematic maintenance and scientific preservation of records kept in Uttar Pradesh State Archives, Government offices, autonomous institutions and in individual possession.
- To preserve memoirs of eminent personalities by taping them under the Oral History Scheme.
- Two weeks' record training to be given to the employees working in the record rooms of various offices of the State.
- To bring out important publications based on the records preserved by the Archives from time to time.
- To organize archive exhibitions and seminars etc. from time to time at various places in the State in order to generate awareness among the general public and students about archival heritage, an important part of the rich cultural heritage of the State.
