The concept behind such events is to bring artists together collectively, allowing them to showcase their work and engage in discussions that facilitate the exchange of contemporary ideas and beliefs. Typically, artists work independently in their studios. However, there is a natural curiosity among both the general public and fellow artists about how a particular artist creates and assembles their artwork using various techniques and mediums. To familiarize the general public and aspiring young artists with these aspects, state-level and national artist camps are organized. The academy invites senior and young artists from various fields, both from within the state and abroad, to participate in camps organized in remote areas and tourist locations of the state. The academy provides transportation, accommodation, meals, and art supplies to the participating artists. In most cases, during a ten-day camp, out of the two artworks created in the field of painting, one belongs to the artist. For other mediums, such as graphic art and sculpture, one artwork from each artist is acquired into the academy's permanent art collection.
